FC Barcelona to Sign New Main Sponsor? Leaked 22-23 Kit With Possible Sponsors
Update: We have created two mock-ups of how the possible new Barça sponsors could look on the leaked Barcelona 22-23 home kit. Soccerbible did the same for the club's 21-22 kits.
We may see a new main sponsor on Barca's shirt next season as the club negotiating for a new sponsorship deal. Despite current sponsor Rakuten being keen on an extension, Barcelona are looking at other offers made by a couple of familiar names in recent years.
Binance & FTX Competing For A Place On Barcelona Shirt
According to Mundo Deportivo, the two crypto companies, Binance and FTX, are the frontrunners for the sponsorship race.
Binance is no stranger to the football scene as they have secured Lazio and Porto earlier in October and November, respectively. Meanwhile, FTX have been active on the other side of the globe, partnering with baseball and basketball clubs in the U.S.
It is reported that whoever trying to secure a deal with Barcelona will need an offer somewhere around the region of 60 million euros/year or higher. The Catalan club demanded such an amount with current sponsor Rakuten but the Japanese company refused to match the demand.
Nevertheless, Barcelona CEO Ferran Reverter has confirmed that Rakuten is still in the negotiation process with the club. The contract between the two parties is set to expire in summer 2022.
Should either Binance or FTX strike a deal with Barca, it would be another triumph for the crypto segment, as they continue to spread their influence in the football scene.
