Special Chelsea "42" Champions Kit Released

Chelsea FC are celebrating their 2021 UEFA Champions League title with a limited-edition kit.

The Chelsea special kit has been created in collaboration with art-inspired brand Dodici Otto. It is limited to 420 pieces and is officially called "Forty Two". Kai Havertz scored the goal in the Champions League final in the 42nd-minute.

The kit was created by artist Jordan and his art-inspired brand Dodici Otto

Artist Jordan founded Dodici Otto at the age of 19 in the summer of 2017 when he could not find a football shirt no one else had so decided to create his own. The concept of implementing his own designs onto shirts was developed just before Euro 2020. Dodici Otto is the translation in Italian for the date of his birthday.

"This is niche because I don"t think there is anyone in the world doing that!" Jordan says. "For me and a lot of other people, different football shirts hold different memories and sentimental values, as they remind us of different times in our lives. To be able to tell stories on them through my designs is really quite special!"

Chelsea 'Forty Two' Kit - Nike 21-22 Home Kit With Illustrations Of Key Moments of Champions League Final

The special Chelsea kit is based on the Nike 21-22 home kit. It features illustrations of key moments from the game, including Havertz"s iconic knee-slide celebration, N"Golo Kante"s man-of-the-match performance, Thomas Tuchel"s post-game reaction, the starting line-up and a nod towards the club being twice Champions League winners.

Chelsea did not wear the 21-22 home kit but the 20-21 home kit in the final

Several things are quite odd, as mentioned by kit expert @phildelves. It is not based on the kit Chelsea actually wore in the final and based on the replica version.

These moments have been digitally transformed into illustrations that have been hand-printed onto the shirt.

The shirt retails at a price of 195 GBP

The shirt retails at a price of 195 GBP. It is sold out online but is still available from the Stamford Bridge Megastore. Each shirt is delivered in a bespoke gifting box signed by Jordan, the artist who created the shirt.
