Dortmund Change 21-22 Puma Kit Again

Update: The Borussia Dortmund kit with the altered full-contrast club logo is available to buy in the club's online store. It will be debuted in tonight's Champions League match against Sporting CP.

From Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League onwards (versus Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday evening), Borussia Dortmund will compete with a color-contrasted club crest on the front of their shirts. This was announced by the club today.

BVB already changed the original jersey – which came under criticism from many fans for not featuring the club emblem on the chest – during the summer within the scope of the UEFA regulations and had a transparent logo printed on it.

However, many fans complained about the lack of visibility of the BVB logo during the 2-1 away win at Besiktas in the opening game of the competition. Borussia Dortmund then contacted UEFA and sought approval for a color-contrasted version of the logo. This request was granted by European football's governing body on Friday afternoon.

The altered Puma Borussia Dortmund kit comes with a full-contrast crest. It does not feature the two stars for the team's Bundesliga titles, in contrast to previous Cup kits.
