BK8 TO BECOME SHIRT SPONSOR FOR NORWICH CITY FROM 2021-22 SEASON
According to the official announcement, BK8 is registered in Malta and "is Asia’s leading online betting agency". As part of the agreement, the BK8 logo will feature as the new front of shirt sponsor on both of Norwich City's first team match and training kits for the new season.
Speaking of the new partnership, Ben Kensell, chief operating officer at Norwich City, said: “We’re delighted to welcome BK8 as our new principal partner. It is excellent that they see the value in working with Norwich City. BK8 will undoubtedly be a new brand for City fans, however, they’re a well trusted name across Asia."
Norwich City legend Darren Eadie who is also BK8's spokesperson, claimed: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with one of the most driven and forward-thinking teams in English football."
“BK8 shares the club’s aspiration to seek continuous improvement. It is the undying desire to achieve greater heights in an unforgiving environment that brought us together. We’re all really looking forward to the season ahead with Norwich City back where they belong, in the top-flight.”
The deal, however, immediately lands Norwich City in hot water, drawing criticism from their fans.
So today we confirmed we sold our best player & announced a new shirt sponsor with an Asian betting firm with 200 twitter followers and an Instagram page that is basically soft porn... It's not even midday 😂 #ncfc

All the good work #ncfc have done with the community, all the great messages they put out about inclusivity and equality…

For the sake a few extra grand they could easily get a shirt sponsor that matches those views.
Despite BK8's claim to be Asia's leading online betting firm, its' social media pages is incredibly small. At the time of writing, the Twitter page has only almost 200 followers, while its' Facebook does a bit better with more than 6000.
There is also very limited information about the company, which makes this partnership all the more questionable.
