Hummel Announce Köln Kit Deal From 2022
It turns out that Hummel's 'GOAT' logo April Fool's prank yesterday was not a total joke and instead hinted at today's announcement that the brand would become the kit supplier of Bundesliga club Köln.
Hummel x Köln From 2022-23
Hummel will produce Köln's jerseys for five years starting with 2022-23, i.e. the season after next. Next season's Köln kits will still be made by current supplier Uhlsport.
“In respect of our requirements for a kit supplier, hummel convinced us with the best overall package. hummel is brand that are known across the world, who have also made a name for themselves not only in sportswear but also in fashion. hummel’s trademark chevrons will frame the future. hummel also stand up for sustainability measures with their 'Company Karma', which fits perfectly to us. We want to produce our kits in the future so that we make a strong contribution to the ZNU Standard – driving sustainable change,” said FC managing director, Alexander Wehrle.
“Just like ourselves, 1. FC Köln are known as a club who like to do things differently and to always show character. That fits perfectly to the hummel brand,” said Allan Vad Nielsen, CEO of hummel A/S. “We have great confidence in the future plans of 1. FC Köln, the impressive history of the club and their incredible fanbase. We are really looking forward to working closely with the club, in order to present an exciting range of products for fans and players.”
