FC Barcelona Football Shirt Evolution - 2010-2019
One aspect of Barcelona's home kits over the course of the last 10 years immediately stands out: there have been a lot more experiments and controversial looks compared to Real Madrid who "played it safe" every single year and rather had more outgoing away and third shirts. Sportswear giant Nike tried out virtually everything: gradients, horizontal stripes or even checkers à la Croatia.

Although football shirts are a common property nowadays and kit deals increase every year Real Madrid still tries to keep it simple with their home jersey. Los Blancos always keep their history and legacy in mind unlike other big Spanish clubs that started to become the guinea pig of their football shirt supplier in the last decade. This was underlined recently when Real Madrid refused to wear the mind-boggling home jersey look proposed by adidas and ditched the insane sleeve cuffs.

This means that a few design principles always stay the same for Real's home jersey: a very clean white base without any graphic elements gets combined with a full-color version of the club's badge and subtle accents that consist of adidas' brandings and subtle trim for the most part. If there is something present on the body it is very subtle (e.g. Real Madrid 2012-13 home shirt with tonal pinstripes). Another constant is shirt supplier adidas that is responsible since 1998.
