On Wednesday night, Juventus' Alvaro Morata caught people's attention by wearing an extraordinary hybrid Adidas X Ghosted x Predator Mania 2002 football boot. His boots were not created by Adidas but by the Chinese artist PeteZheng - let us find out all about the custom hybrid soccer cleats made by him.
Hybrid Football Boots By Chinese Artist PeteZheng
PeteZheng takes modern boots and transforms to look like iconic classic football boots. To achieve this, he paints the modern boots with all the elements that defined the classic cleat.
In example, for Morata he took the modern Adidas X Ghosted+ and painted them with all the elements of the classic white / red / black Adidas Predator Mania - the result is an Adidas X Ghosted+ that looks like a Predator Mania 2002 from long distance.
PeteZheng created such stunning hybrid cleats as a Nike Mercurial Superfly VII x R9 concept boot, an Adidas Nemeziz 19.1 x Adidas Predator Powerswerve 2007 as well as an Adidas X Ghosted x Adizero 2014 Battle Pack.
Tech-wise, the boots created by PeteZheng are the same as the modern ones with just the added painting. This might cause a bit worse touch, especially in bad weather conditions.
