No SAP: Hoffenheim To Wear Special Logo On Kits This Weekend
The Hoffenheim kit against Stuttgart will feature the logo of the club's region, "Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar" (Metropolitan Region Rhine-Neckar - MRN), on the front.
With the "Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar" logo on the jersey chest, the Bundesliga soccer team will be demonstrating its solidarity with and the club's roots in the region at the Baden-Swabian derby. In addition, the Bundesliga soccer club is also using the campaign to congratulate the anniversary: "The MRN has been recognised as a European metropolitan region for 15 years.
The TSG main sponsor SAP has made this logo exchange possible.
Luka Mucic, CFO of SAP SE and member of the board of the association Zukunft Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar (ZMRN e.V.), explains: "With this special jersey we want to visibly and emotionally promote our region. This is an important step in our efforts to show young skilled workers in particular how attractive the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region can be as a center of life and work".
Michael Heinz, Chairman of the ZMRN e.V. and member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE, adds: "TSG, SAP and the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region are pulling together in many areas. Such small gestures show how well cooperation and cohesion work in the region". As early as 2015, SAP had already waived its logo for the first time in favor of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region at the TSG derby against VfB Stuttgart.
TSG Managing Director Denni Strich says: "As a club, we are firmly rooted in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region and are grateful to be able to use the special jersey to promote our home region. Everyone in the region can benefit from each other - citizens, municipalities, companies and associations. Especially the current time of the Corona pandemic shows how important it is to be deeply rooted in the regional environment. We as TSG are proud of our homeland".
20 of the matchworn jerseys used in the game will be auctioned off starting the week after the game via the online fan store of TSG Hoffenheim for the benefit of the Mannheim-based association Kinderhospiz Sterntaler.
