St. Louis City SC MLS Logo Revealed
On August 20 2019, MLS announced it had approved St. Louis as the league's 28th franchise and is expected to join in the 2022 season. Now the logo and idendity of new St. Louis MLS teams has been revealed - introducing St. Louis City SC.

The St. Louis MLS team is a Major League Soccer expansion franchise that is will begin play in MlS in 2023. The club will be based in St. Louis, Missouri, with home matches at a planned 22,500-seat soccer-specific stadium.

This is a significant step forward for our club – and our region.”

The St. Louis City SC crests boasts a unique shape and look. The crest comes with the team's name St. Louis City on the right in vertical lettering and the SC for soccer club on the center bottom. The left side of the crest features a sleek graphic design, inspired by the iconic arch of the city of St. Louis.
The St. Louis MLS expansion team revealed its official name, crest and colors on Thursday during a live-streamed event featuring the team's supporters and ownership group.
Name & Colors
The team will be known as St. Louis City SC. Selected from over 6,000 fan submissions, the name is rooted in the city's rich soccer tradition as America's First Soccer Capital. The name celebrates the area’s diverse, iconic neighborhoods and proud heritage while capturing the region’s recent growth and cultural renaissance.
Four primary colors will identify the team: "City Red", "River Blue", "Energy Yellow", "Arch Steel Gray".
Crest
A diverse group of over 20 local designers created the crest based upon a common theme discovered through focus groups and discussions with various community members — a deep-rooted sense of unity and pride across the region in the St. Louis City flag. Using the flag as an inspiration, the team crest is an abstract depiction of the club’s passion and purpose, displayed through iconic elements found across the St. Louis region.
WORDMARK: Prominently leads with CITY as team name.
THE SOCCER CLUB/SOCCER CAPITAL: SC has double meaning, standing for both Soccer Club and Soccer Capital. It is our name, it is our history.
TOP OF SHIELD: Follows the shape of the Gateway Arch.
TWO RIVERS: Horizontal lines represent the two rivers that define our region: The Mississippi and The Missouri.
GATEWAY ARCH: The abstract representation of the iconic landmark is used to create movement and a connection to the rivers from the St. Louis City flag.
About St. Louis City SC
St. Louis City SC will begin play in MLS in 2023, joining Sacramento as the 29th and 30th teams in the league. The team will feature the only majority female-led ownership group in Major League Soccer, led by Carolyn Kindle Betz.
