Barcelona Sporting Club 95-Years Anniversary Logo Released

Ecuadorian club yesterday celebrated its 95th birthday. For that occasion, Barcelona Sporting Club launched a special 95-years anniversary logo.

Barcelona S.C. was founded on May 1 1925, 26 years after Hans Gamper founded FC Barcelona. The reason for them to share the name and also the logo (more or less) is that in the 1920s, there was a huge Catalan immigration. Then, the Catalans of the time, attracted by football who had lived in Catalonia, decided to recreate their club in Guayaquil, specifically in the Astillero neighborhood.

The brand-new Barcelona Sporting Club 95-years anniversary logo has the silhouette of the first shield in its history, with the incorporation of the number 95 standing out in the center. On its sides are the graphics that refer to the Cross of Saint George and the Senyera de Catalunya.

Above it appears the club's nickname Amarillo ("Yellow") and below are added the years 1925 and 2020 separated by the figure that represents the current logo that identifies Ecuadorians for decades.

Barcelona SC will soon release a special 95-years anniversary kit, made by Marathon Sports.
