Developed By Brand Agency - Extraordinary Wolves Kit Font Launched - Featuring Wolves Eyes
Wolves players wore shirts with their name and number in official Wolves font for the first time in the Europa League curtain raiser against SC Braga yesterday.
Wolves Font
The bespoke Wolves font was designed especially for Wolves as part of its new brand identity upon promotion to the Premier League. It features distinctive elements of the club’s iconic crest, most prominently its unique wolf’s eyes.
The Wolves font was created in partnership with brand agency SomeOne. In fact, the agency developed the whole brand identity for the club. Wolverhampton Wanderers's brand identity has already won a host of industry awards.
“We wanted to give a nod to the City’s industrial heritage, so opted for a bold and condensed style. By using the geometric forms of the eyes, we began removing cuts and angles from the letterforms,” said one of the typeface’s designers Ian Dawson.
Wolves name and numbers are available since this week. Letters retail at £1 each and numbers £4 each. This means that the longer the name the more expensive the kit print is - João Moutinho's kit print costs you 18 GBP, while Neto is available for just 8 GBP.
The Wolves brand identity, including the Wolves font, is currently up for the prestigious Beazley Design of the Year award at the Design Museum in London.
