Insane - Nike Austria Wien Goalkeeper Kit Features Sponsor Design

We came across pictures of the 2018-2019 Nike kits of Austrian club Austria Vienna. And while they are not extraordinary for an Austrian team at first glance (they are plastered by sponsor logos), the goalkeeper kit of the club is quite ridiculous.

Nike Austria Wien 2018-2019 Keeper Kit Features Design Of Sponsor BWT

The Nike Austria Wien 2018-2019 Nike home kit features a classic design in the club's traditional violet and white colors, while the away kit is white and golden. The Austria Wien 2018-19 goalkeeper kit is, however, not something usual.

First, it is sponsored by exclusive goalkeeper kit sponsor BWT (Best Water Technology) and not by their main sponsor Harreither. This is because Austria Wien signed two sponsorship deals ahead of the season - player and goalkeeper).

Second, it comes with the pink design used by BWT for their sport sponsorships (e.g. skiing and racing).

Austria Wien is not the first team whose kits feature a design of the sponsor. In Germany in the 1990s, some clubs like VfL Bochum and Eintracht Frankfurt had home kits that boasted the design of the main sponsor. Evian's kits featured the logo and colors of Evian water company on the front.

However, while Austria Wien is wearing their kit in the 2018-19 Austrian Bundesliga campaign, they would be not allowed to do so in other competitions very likely (e.g. Champions League). The 1990s kits of Bochum and Frankfurt are now forbidden in all major leagues, thanks to kit rules.

Do you think that the Austrian Bundesliga should forbid this? What do you think of kits featuring the design of a sponsor? Let us know in the comments below.
