Insane | Argentinian Champions Racing Used 8 Different Kits This Season
Argentinian club Racing Club won the Argentinian league last weekend. It i fair to say that the season has been a big success for the club, but what is even more remarkable is the number of kits Racing Club used this season.
Racing Club Uses Eight Different Kits A Season
There are two main reasons why Racing used as many different kits in the 2018-2019 season.
First, the club's kit maker released their 2019-2020 jerseys in early February 2019, near the end of the 2018-19 campaign. Second, Racing Club released some special-edition jerseys (one for Mother's Day and one for the 1988 Supercopa Sudamericana triumph).
Thanks to La Casaca, we also get a hint of how often each kit was worn and how successful each kit was. The club wore sic different kits in their 24 league matches. Two kits were only worn in international competitions.
Last year, German club 1. FC Köln wore seven different kits in 43 games - now Racing has broken this record.
However, while Racing Club may have breached a record in terms of different kits used in a season, this is somehow just a preview of what is coming. Nike has planned to release four different kits for many of their teams in the 2019-2020 season, Puma will do it for some clubs as well, and Adidas teams like Bayern Munchen have already used five different kits a season quite often.
