Next-Gen Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 Neymar 'Speed Freak' Signature Boots Released
The first next-gen Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 Neymar signature boots have been released. Dubbed the Nike "Neymar Jr. Mercurial Vapor Speed Freak", the boots are inspired by Neymar's affinity for speed on and off the pitch.
"High speed is ingrained in Neymar Jr.’s playmaking DNA. He possesses an electric pace, seen in his quick dribbling skills, and dazzling sprints. His passion for velocity also spills over into his love for motorsports and racing. This affinity for speed on and off the pitch is the inspiration for Nike’s special-edition Neymar Jr. Mercurial Vapor Speed Freak."
With Neymar being injured and wanting to leave PSG, Nike postponed the launch of the Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 NJR Neymar signature football boots. The official release was initially expected to be ahead of the start of the 2019-2020 season.
Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII Neymar
This is the next-gen Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 Neymar Jr boot.
Neymar's Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 'Speed Freak' signature soccer boots are predominantly chrome with a racing flag graphic along the side.
The lateral Swoosh on the Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII Neymar cleats is black with a subtle checker pattern. The heel, which is red, features the logos of Nike, Neymar and several of the Brazilian's previous signature editions.
Tech-wise, the step up from the Vapor 12 to Vapor 13 is rather slow. The Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 football boots have a one-piece Flyknit construction with added NikeSkin for improved durability and control.
