Fortuna Düsseldorf Toni Turek Special Kit Released

Bundesliga club Düsseldorf has released a special-edition kit to celebrate the legacy of former goalkeeper Toni Turek, who would have turned 100 in January. Turek formed part of the Germany 1954 World Cup winning squad.

Turek would have turned 100 on 18 January 2019. Fortuna Düsseldorf now honors its hero with a special jersey.

This is the special-edition Fortuna Düsseldorf Toni Turek jersey.

The anthracite-colored fabric of the special Düsseldorf jersey conveys a cotton feel and is set off with black cuffs. A white cord decorates the collar of the jersey to match the time.

The Fortuna Düsseldorf crest was embroidered on the chest as a black and white traditional coat of arms with the anniversary lettering "Toni Turek 1919 - 2019". A photo of the goalkeeper legend also adorns the neck of the jersey. The red and white accents on the collar and on the side of the cuff are inspired by the striped socks worn by Toni Turek. As a connection to Fortuna's hometown Düsseldorf, the coat of arms of the city of Düsseldorf can be found on the back at the height of the neck. The appearance of the shirt number is based on Turek's jerseys.

The jersey was designed by Fortuna Düsseldorf and realized in cooperation with the supplier Uhlsport. Fortuna has also come up with something special for the packaging of the jersey. Packed in red and white decorative paper, the jersey is sold in a black box at a price of 89.95 euros.
