Closer Look: New Nike 2019 Kit Authenticity Badge
After almost 10 years of using the current one, Nike kits will feature a brand-new authenticity badge from the start of next year.
Whereas the old Nike authenticity badges were always rectangular in their shape, the new one is a circle. We got a preview for it on the recently launched Chelsea third kit as well as PSG's two Jordan jerseys. It also appeared on the leaked USA 2019 Women's World Cup away kit.
On the old badge we could see the Nike swoosh on the right side, together with the year the shirt was launched in. On the left was the writing 'AUTHENTIC', with a unique identifier printed below.
Now, the Swoosh / NikeConnect logo sites centrally above the writing 'Engineered for championship athletes'. At the bottom is a new identifier - we believe that the first three symbols signify the year and season (in this case F18 - Fall 2018) during which the jersey was launched. The accent color is silver for the replica and gold for the authentic shirts - just as before.
