Julian Brandt Becomes Germany's New No. 10
Germany midfielder Mesut Özil retired after the 2018 World Cup. Now the German national team announced the squad and the numbers for the UEFA Nations League game against France the friendly against Peru.
Leon Gortzka Gets Khedira's No 6
Leverkusen's Julian Brandt takes over the shirt number 10 in the national team and thus follows in the footsteps of the retired Mesut Özil. Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich) now carries the number 6, which was previously used by the this time not nominated Sami Khedira (Juventus Turin).
First time nominee Kai Havertz gets the the No. 20 from Brandt. Newcomer Nico Schulz (TSG Hoffenheim) receives the number 14, debutant Thilo Kehrer (Paris St. Germain) gets the No 12 shirt.
