Update: As reported by us ahead of yesterday's match, Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Luis Suárez (Uruguay) wore special shirts ahead of the kick-off of the important 2018 World Cup qualifiers between their two countries that want to host together the 2030 World Cup. They played 0-0, leaving both countries all options open to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
To promote Argentina and Uruguay's joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez will wear special shirts ahead of today's crucial 2018 World Cup qualifiers match between the two countries in Montevideo.

Luis Suárez's kit will boast the large number 20 on the front, while Messi's jersey will feature the number 30 on the front. However, the players will logically only wear these kits ahead of the match, while they will switch to the regular jerseys for the match.
Argentina and Uruguay officially submitted their proposal to host the 2030 World Cup one month ago. Uruguay hosted the first World Cup in 1930.
