Under will join Adidas in releasing a football boot without laces next year, we can exclusively reveal. The laceless Under Armour cleats are the second generation of the brand's Spotlight boot silo, expected to be released in late June or early July, 2017.

Under Armour's Laceless Boots

This is Under Armour's upcoming laceless Spotlight football boots.

In order to reduce weight and distraction, Under Armour's new Spotlight 2.0 football boots come without laces and instead feature a zip, aligned asymmetrically to increase the striking surface. Whereas Adidas' laceless cleats feature heightened collars and knitted materials, the laceless Under Armour Spotlight soccer boots boast a more usual synthetic upper and a low cut.

Proving their worth as a lightweight speed boot, the UA Spotlight 3 boot will feature a carbon-fiber plate, while the leaked prototype comes without that feature. The Under Armour Spotlight 2 boots come without an external heel counter and have an aggressive stud alignment, designed to offer fast and reliable traction.

Going on sale in Summer 2017 in a mainly green launch paint job, the laceless Under Armour soccer cleats retail at $300.
