Welcome To Asics - Here Is Iniesta's Full Boot History
Andrés Iniesta, one of the greatest midfielders of all time, this week signed his first-ever deal with another brand than Nike, leaving the Swoosh for Asics. We take a look at the soccer boots worn by him in the past 16 years.
Despite famously mentioning a pair of Adidas Copa Mundial boots he wore as a kid before joining La Masia in his biography, Iniesta had had always been with Nike during his professional career until late Summer 2018, when he left Nike for Asics.
On October 29, 2002, Andrés Iniesta played his first match with the Barcelona first team, in the Champions League against Club Brugge. He started with Nike Premier boots, before switching to the Total 90 silo later on.
He used the Nike Tiempo for a short time during the 2004-05 season, before returning to the Total 90 in 2005. He stayed with the accuracy silo all the way until October 2009, when the first-ever Nike CTR360 Maestri was released.
Tasked with headlining the new line of boots, Iniesta was one of the first players to wear them and ended up scoring the most important goal of his career in it, in the 2010 World Cup final in Johannesburg.
Iniesta would go on to wear the different generations of the CTR360 Maestri - until it was discontinued in favor of the Magista. Fittingly, the Magista, Nike's first-ever knitted football boot, was released in Barcelona with Iniesta in March 2014. He started with the Dynamic Fit collar-featuring Obra variant before opting for the low-cut Opus variant in the second half of the 2014-15 season.
In early 2017, Andrés Iniesta received a completely camouflaged version of the Nike Magista Opus football boot, while he received another new, custom leather-like Nike Magista Opus boot with the updated upper structure in April 2017.
For his last-ever match at the Camp Nou, Nike created a pair of special-edition Magista Opus boots to celebrate the match. Andrés Iniesta's first Nike signature boots were predominantly white with blue and red brandings and gold text details that reference key dates from Iniesta's career.

In August 2018, Andres Iniesta made his first match for his new club Vissel Kobe, still wearing the Nike Magista boots. In early October 2018, Iniesta was first spotted with unbranded blackout Asics boots, creating rumors that he could join the Japanese brand Asics.
On October 22 2018, it was announced that Andres Iniesta officially joined Asics. Iniesta will wear the Asics X-Fly 3 boots.
