PES 2017 Misses Out on Bayern, Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid Licenses
The release of the full list of teams to be included in the upcoming PES 2017 has caused some frustration amongst fans of the series.
PES 2017 Misses Out on High-Profile Licenses
Where PES 2017 announced a number of high-profile deals with the likes of Barcelona, Dortmund and Liverpool, Konami has lost out one some other major teams. All of Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid are not licensed in the game anymore although they appeared in last year's game.
In fact, Atlético Madrid is the only Spanish team to be licensed in the game besides Barcelona, with the likes of Athletic Bilbao ("PV WHITE RED"), Real Madrid ("MD WHITE"), Sevilla ("AS RED WHITE") appearing with fake names, logos and kits. The same is the case in the Premier League, although for that league it isn't a new situation. Fans of the PES series will know that all player data is correct in those cases.
In addition, Konami has lost Juventus in PES 2017, after the club signed an exclusive agreement with EA Sports. Called "PM BLACK WHITE" in PES 2017, they are still expected to feature the correct players.
It's even worse in the Bundesliga, where Konami lost Bayern Munich and added Dortmund. Only Leverkusen and Schalke are included in addition to BVB, with the rest of the league absent completely.
