Taking inspiration from the league's visual identity and including the redesigned badge, the alleged new Premier League would look rather unusual, evidenced by an example picture featuring Chelsea's Baba Rahman. Thankfully, it is not for next season, and a work in process rather than the finished product.
In fact, as we already revealed back in May, the Premier League's typeface for player names and numbers will remain unchanged in the upcoming season, which was already confirmed by the company producing it, SportingID.
@deeeyepeepeewhy @BenMoxham_ HI Kyle, We can confirm that the number designs will not change for the 16/17 season keeping the current badge.

However, as we've been made aware of, the font DID appear in a talk held by DesignStudio, the studio behind the league's new identity. "And we're busy working a shirt name and number typeface for next season." (12 minutes into the video) So, we might actually get something along the lines of this font from 2017.
Now, imagine for a second the images would actually be showing the real new Premier League font. Would you like it? Drop us a line below.
