Sido Jombati wore a non-modified version of the Nike Mercurial Match Soccer Cleats. Sido Jombati opted for the Black, White and Blue colorway of the boots that were released in 2000 as second generation of the Nike Mercurial silo. What can be said about the boots?
The most remarkable release of the Nike Match Mercurial was likely Ronaldo's signature metallic copper Nike Match Mercurial R9. Nike released a ton of different and unique colorways until they cleats were replaced in 2002 by the first-ever Nike Mercurial Vapor. As the design of the boots can be seen on the pictures, let's get straight into the tech specifications.
Released in 2000, the Nike Match Mercurial Football Boot weights in at just 230 gram and featured the same trademark lightweight synthetic KNG-100 upper as the first-ever Nike Mercurial Boot. All in all, the Nike Match Mercurial was nothing revolutionary but very similar to the original Nike Mercurial Boot, while Nike would herald a new era in the lightweight game with the first-ever Vapor edition of the Nike Mercurial Boots in 2002.
We would love to feature even more of such awesome boots. So let us know if you have spotted any other players wearing such unique boots in the comments section below and see the complete history of the Nike Mercurial Boots here.
