Hakan Calhanoglu's One-of-a-Kind Adidas X Boots

Bayer 04 Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has shown off his yellow Adidas X 15.1 Boots on Instagram one week ago. And while it's usually nothing special that a player posts a picture of his brand-new boots, the boots Hakan Çalhanoglu received by Adidas rightly caught the attention of our avid follower @tyleryoung011 as they are different to any other Adidas X 15.1 Boot.

Interestingly, Hakan Calhanoglu was used to lace up in the Adidas X 15.1 Boots, while he made the switch to the Adidas Ace Primeknit Cleats after Adidas released the next generation of their control boot.

Hakan Calhanoglu Shows Off Unique Modified Adidas X Boots

Çalhanoglu showed off his boots on Instagram last week.

Hakan Calhanoglu's Adidas X 15.1 Boots are based on the regular edition of the synthetic Adidas X 15.1 Soccer Cleats. However, whereas the regular Adidas X 15.1 Boots come with a techfit collar that wraps around the ankle, the Hakan Calhanoglu Adidas X 15.1 Edition comes without the collar but with a standard low-cut design. Apart from that, the cleats are the same as the retail version.

Have you spotted any other players wearing an Adidas X 15.1 Boots without a collar? Do you think that brands such as Adidas and Nike should more often give more players a collarless boot to avoid that they cut off the collar by themselves? Let us know in the comments below.
