Manchester United to Wear Nike Kits In All 2015-16 Pre-Season Matches

Manchester United will fly out to the United States this afternoon for their 2015-16 pre-season tour with four new players, but with last season's kits.

The English Premier League club today announced the signings of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, who are both sponsored by Adidas, after they already signed Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay.

Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Darmian showed off their first Manchester United Shirts after they joined the Reds. As Adidas will become Manchester United's kit supplier not until August 1, Adidas sponsored athletes Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin modeled the old Nike Manchester United 14-15 Kit.

Manchester United will wear the old Nike 14-15 Kits in all of their pre-season matches against 2014-15 Champions League winners FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Club America and San Jose Earthquakes.

In fact, Manchester United planned to host a pre-season friendly in early August 2015 to launch the new Adidas Manchester United Kit, but Louis van Gaal has opposed such plans as the team needs rest in the last week before the season starts. So Manchester United will debut the new Adidas Manchester United 2015-16 Kit in the Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.

For its part, Adidas posted an image of Schneiderlin on Twitter wearing a generic Adidas shirt, and the caption "Break up play. Break down the doors. @SchneiderlinMo4 is red. Ready to break expectations 01.08.15".

New season, but old kits. It's a tricky situation for Adidas and a pleasure for Nike that Manchester United is sponsored by the US-giant until 31 July 2015.
