FC St. Pauli To Sign Under Armour Kit Deal
Under Armour is set to enter the German football market. The US sportswear brand Under Armour will make the new St. Pauli Kits from the 2016-17 season, according to German newspaper "manager magazin".
Denmark based company Hummel has made the FC St. Pauli Jerseys since Summer 2014. The new St. Pauli 2015-2016 Kits are set to be revealed very soon.
Under Armour to make St. Pauli's Kits from 2016-17
According to "manager magazin", Under Armour outbid current shirt supplier Hummel, even though Hummel much improved their bid to continue as jersey supplier.
For Under Armour, the St. Pauli Kit Deal is their first major deal in German football after their shirt supplier contract with Hannover 96 expired in 2011. Under Armour had been Hannover's kit supplier from 2008 to 2011.
Under Armour is set to sign further sponsorship deals in Germany in the upcoming years. It's almost certain that Under Armour make the kits for a major Bundesliga club soon. According to rumors, Under Armour will try to sign sponsorship deals with Schalke 04 and Champions League participants Borussia Mönchengladbach, whose sponsorship deal expire in 2018, respectively.
