Special FC Köln 'Tolerance' Kit Revealed

German Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln will sport a special kit with the writing 'Toleranz' (that means tolerance) in today's Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen to support a new wide-ranging league initiative.

As part of the International Week against Racism, the German Bundesliga will promote integration in society. Matchday 26 of the Bundesliga has the motto "Put an end to prejudice" (German "Mach einen Strich durch Vorurteile") and will see a number of activities take place.

The new 1. FC Köln 2015 Tolerance Kit replaces the regular "REWE" sponsor logo with the lettering "Toleranz" (Tolerance) on the front to raise awareness for the integration of refugees and immigrants and promote immigrant-friendly policies in Germany. Part of a league-wide initiative, all clubs of the first and second division including powerhouses Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke will wear a special sleeve patch with the slogan "Mach einen Strich durch Vorurteile" ("Put an end to prejudice").

In order to further raise awareness of the initiative Ilkay Gündogan, Benedikt Höwedes, Naldo and Änis Ben-Hatira as well as Nadine Keßler, a star for the women’s national team, have appeared in TV adverts. Alongside the raising of awareness, financial support will be given to refugees.
