Cardiff City Returns to Blue Home Kit

English Championship club Cardiff City will return to playing in their traditional blue home kit.

Cardiff City will debut the traditional blue home kit for the first time in tomorrows match against Fulham, after the club was re-branded in 2012. Cardiff City was re-branded to red to generate "appeal in international markets".

Owner Vincent Tan gave the permission to return to the iconic blue football shirt of The Bluebirds, after a consultation meeting with supporters on Thursday.

Cardiff City to redesign club crest

From the 2015-16 season, Cardiff City FC will also receive a new club crest with the main color blue reflecting the club's identity. The new Cardiff City 2015 Club Logo will "reflect the dominance of the Bluebird, celebrating the proud history and heritage of the Club." Owner Vincent Tan also said that the new club crest "will incorporate elements representative of his culture and beliefs."

Cardiff City coach Slade has described the club's move back to blue as a "giant step". "This is a fantastic opportunity to build a new platform and put the bricks in place to rebuild and start again," he said. "If you're going to be successful in any business, any football club, you need everyone pulling together as a unit."

The new Cardiff City 2015-16 Home Kit will also return to the iconic main color blue, while the Cardiff City FC 2015-16 Away Jersey will be red.
