New Portsmouth FC Crest Presented
The new Portsmouth FC Crest will be used for the Portsmouth Kits from the 2015-16 season. The Portsmouth FC 2015 Crest is based on the traditional and highly-popular 1912-style logo, which was put on the commemorative Portsmouth FC 14-15 Home Kit to honor the anniversary of World War One. Pompey decided to change their crest after a survey of fans.

This is the new Portsmouth 2015 Club Logo.
Based on the iconic Portsmouth crest used form 1912 for more than 60 years, the key change to the 1912-design is that the new Portsmouth Crest will feature an eight-point star, compared to the five-point star used in 1912. Additionally, the club also incorporating subtle shading elements, while the new Portsmouth FC 2014-2015 logo still features a modern flat design.
Colin Farmery, who has overseen the consultation and is responsible for the club’s history and archiving projects, said: "I am sure fans will be pleased with the new crest. It very much draws on the club’s past and means we will be returning to a timeless design used for almost 70 years from 1912 until 1980. The styling of the badge has given it a more contemporary feel, but at its heart it is faithful to the best traditions of the club."
After the traditional crest used for Portsmouth FC 14-15 Kit was popular among supporters, Portsmouth FC put out a survey to find out if fans want a visual overhaul. 55% of almost 5,000 people voted for the 1912-style crest. 26% would have like to keep the current design, while 18% wanted a totally new crest design.
