MLS Considers Leaving Adidas

  • Potential End of Partnership: MLS is considering ending its exclusive apparel deal with Adidas when it expires in 2030.
  • Long-Standing Relationship: Adidas has been the exclusive league-wide outfitter for all MLS teams since 2004.
  • Future Scenarios: After 2030, MLS may seek a new exclusive league-wide outfitter (like Nike, which provides exclusive kits for the NWSL) or allow individual teams to choose their kit suppliers.

A reputable source has told Footy Headlines that Major League Soccer (MLS) is considering ending its deal with Adidas when it expires in 2030.

MLS Considers Leaving Adidas After 2030

Adidas has been the exclusive league-wide outfitter of every MLS team since 2004. The current deal runs until 2030.

However, MLS appears to have no intention of continuing this long-standing partnership beyond 2030. According to reports, they will not be renewing their contract with Adidas after 2030.

If this is true, there are two possible scenarios for the MLS after 2030:

  • MLS to seek brand to provide exclusive league-wide kit after 2030. It could be Nike, who provides exclusive league-wide kits for the NWSL.
  • MLS will allow teams to find their own kit suppliers, ending the league's exclusive branding.
