Botafogo recently signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Japanese sportswear brand, officially replacing Reebok as their technical supplier. Interestingly, despite the major change in manufacturer, the actual design process for the new uniforms remains the responsibility of the club's internal design team.

The Mizuno Botafogo 2026-2027 home jersey revisits the classic black and white stripes, utilizing a refined design inspired by the 1940s to commemorate the historic 1942 merger between Club de Regatas Botafogo and Botafogo Football Club. The Botafogo 26-27 third shirt arrives in a classic off-white colorway reminiscent of the original Botafogo Football Club's earliest uniforms. Its standout feature is an intricate, all-over jacquard arabesque pattern accompanied by a historic monogram on the left chest, which was originally designed by Basílio Vianna Júnior in 1904. This elegant, vintage-inspired aesthetic is mirrored on the corresponding grey goalkeeper third kit, which also utilizes the classic black monogram in place of the modern Lone Star crest.

Botafogo's 2026-2027 Mizuno uniforms launched on 22 May 2026, just ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The new kits are set to make their official on-pitch debut during the upcoming Brazilian Championship match against São Paulo. Real Madrid defender David Alaba was given an emotional send-off by fans at the Santiago Bernabéu during his final home match for the club. The home kit takes inspiration from sand and spray, tying into the meaning of the club name Sagan and symbolizing how individual elements unite into something stronger. The away kit features a feather-inspired camouflage pattern drawn from the magpie, the team's emblem.

MLS Players Wear Special World Cup Flag Jerseys This Weekend
Major League Soccer players are featuring special World Cup-inspired designs on their jerseys during matches on May 23 and 24. The numbers on the backs incorporate the flags of all 48 nations competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set within black or white outlines depending on the base jersey color.
Each player will also wear a flag patch on the front of the jersey representing their declared nationality or citizenship.
