PES 2022 to be Called "eFootball 2022" + New Logo Leaked?

Update: With the official reveal set to take place later today, Konami have started renaming their PES socials to eFootball, giving credibility to the previous rumors.

For a while now, Pro Evolution Soccer has been known as "eFootball PES". This could change next year as various trademark applications reveal that Konami have applied the name "E FOOTBALL" as a well as new logo for the series.

The name was changed when it made the jump from Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 to eFootball PES 2020, in late 2019. The 2021 edition was the worst in terms of having a convoluted name, officially being called "eFootball PES 2021 Season Update".

Now, the likes of Renan Galvani and Elrussiwe have spotted new trademark applications in Argentina and Brazil that hint at the name going full "e Football", including a new logo. You can check out the application from Argentina, from October last year already, here.

The two applications show different variants of the same logo, with the one from Brazil being aligned in one row, while the one from Argentina shows the logo above the wordmark.

Konami have been very quiet about PES 2022 since announcing the switch to Unreal Engine and releasing a short teaser last year, and have recently also revealed that they would be absent from E3 this year. But with just a few months to go until the expected release of the game, we expect more news about PES 2022 over the coming month or two.
