Adidas Ace Prototype Boots
This is an early Adidas Ace 15.1 Design Sketch.
It was Adidas intention to create a never-seen-before Adidas football boot, and the early design sketches of the Adidas Control Cleat confirm the intention to create a totally new product.
An early Adidas Ace Prototype Design Sketch, which didn't find its way in a truly existing boot, boasts a Dynamic Fit collar design featuring a so-called Air Mesh material in the heel area, combined with a 3D material in the forefoot area. It reminds us of the Nike Magista Obra Cleats, which introduced the revolutionary Dynamic Fit collar to soccer cleats. However, the final Adidas Ace 15.1 Boot features a traditional low-cut ankle design.
Another important focus for Adidas was to develop a brand-new outsole design to revolutionize the traditional stud configuration. Endless numbers of conical studs are made for ultimate control, and this time the first design ideas made its way in a similar form to the final product.
It's even better that Adidas not only released a single design sketch, but gives us a look at a large set of unique Adidas Ace Design Sketches. The bunch of prototypes boots even includes a soccer cleat using Velcro fastener. The Adidas Ace Design Sketch Collection is anything but boring for boot fanatics.
