Ligue 1 Becomes Ligue 1 Conforama
LFP today announced that Conforama will become the league's name sponsor from the 2017-18 season. The Ligue 1 previously already had carried the name of a title sponsor between 2002 and 2008, when the league was called 'Ligue 1 Orange' as part of a deal with French multinational telecommunications company Orange. The league has been without a main sponsor since 2008.
Conforama is a major player in home equipment in Europe. 90% of French people reside today less than 20 minutes from a Conforama store and 80% of the French live less than 50 km from a stadium of a professional football club.
