Adidas a few days ago launched the new Adidas Messi 16.1 Copa America boots, set to be worn by Argentina's number 10 in the centenary tournament in the USA next month.

Boasting a stunning Silver Metallic shimmering upper, the launch colorway of the Adidas Messi 16.1 2016 Football Boots is designed to make a bold statement in the Copa America Centenario that takes place in the USA in Summer 2016. Adidas combines the Silver Metallic upper with a remarkable Shock Blue upper structure and black Three Stripes, while the heel area boasts a striking orange Adidas branding.
The outstep of the next-gen Adidas Messi 2016-2017 Football Boots comes without a visible identification that it's a Messi-exclusive boot. However, the instep features the trademark Messi branding to showcase that it is Messi's exclusive silo. It's a unique design that is totally different to the look of the first generation of the Adidas Messi Cleats.
The next-gen Adidas Messi 2016-2017 Football Boot is made for players who want to be as fast and agile as Barcelona's number 10. Therefore, the Adidas Messi 16.1 Cleats again feature a lightweight concept with a flexible upper and a sole plate engineered for unrivaled speed and acceleration.
The Adidas Messi 2016-2017 Football Boot combines a ultra-thin and flexible textile upper with a totally new synthetic all-over construction that features a remarkable Honeycomb structure. The all-new upper construction, which has less in common with the standard synthetic upper of the first-gen Messi Boots, will be promoted as Agilityknit material and is made to combine a sock-like feel and touch with lockdown for speed and agility.
Apart from the brand-new upper, the other upper elements of the next-gen Adidas Messi 16-17 Boot are quite ordinary. The Adidas Messi 16.1 Football Boot features a traditional tongue, while the extremely low-cut ankle design is another remarkable element of the cleats, which come without the trademark MessiCage of the first generation.
The sole plate of the Adidas Messi 2016-2017 Boots is again made for ultimate agility. Whereas the previous generation just featured triangular studs, the next-gen Adidas Messi 2016-2017 Soccer Cleat comes with a mixture of exceptional small conical (two in the rear area, two in the front area) and triangular studs (seven).
Interestingly, the outsole of the Adidas Messi 2016 Copa America Boots is just called Sprintframe (previously used for the now-discontinued Adidas F50 Adizero), whereas the plate of the first-gen Messi Boots was promoted as TPU outsole with messiGAMBETRAX stud design.
The Adidas Messi 16.1 2016-2017 Boot are slightly cheaper (200 Euro, ~190 USD, ~150 GBP) than the first generation. The Adidas Messi 16.1 Copa America Football Boot were revealed in late May 2016.
